There for, Buzz should get just as much focused as Woody and not just brain washed for a plot device and a cheap joke. In this version, I wanted to keep the main theme of the move intact, that of moving on and accepting change. And he is subdued right after the other toys turn on hi and doesn’t follow the others to the incinerator.Ģ: Have Woody and Buzz swap places in the story When the heroes asked to be moved, he just says no and puts them back and all that Great Escape stuff doesn’t come until the last act when they really get on his nerves. He's less like a fascist and more like a communist, she doesn’t want to oppress people, more ales keep them in place. In this version, he's still mean, but just not has horrible as he was before. In the words of David Mitchell "he's nasty, but he's not nasty like Darth Vader, he's nasty like Gollum". But even with that, he's acted like such a piece of sh*t through this the story that this scene not only make not sense but isn't surprising. And that scene where he leaves the others be inserted just pisses, he off, they clearly show that he thinks about tuning off the machine but just doesn’t just because the scrip told him to. Some time they try and make him sympathetic and make him so ungodly the next, it's like the writer wanted him to be three things at once but two of those things don't go to gather and even if they did it doesn’t matter because he's not good at any of those things. His motivations don't make any sense and don't justify he awful behaviour, you don't go from ferly dissent to being the worst thing since Genghis Khan. I hate him, not because he's such and asshole, but because he has no reason to be such and asshole. I understand that he's supposed to be unlikable, but so is Piers Morgan but that doesn’t make it OK. Not only does he completely ruins the message the movie was trying to get across but he's all just so unpleasant and cruel. To me, Lots-o' represent "everything" wrong with this movie, all of this film follies spawns directly from him. And all of that is down to one think and the main thing I would fix. It started off as a story about moving on and letting of what you love to just being a pore man's Great Escape. the first half of this movie was promising enough but after that is just becomes so dark and depressing, but not in a fun way like Chicken Run or Brazil, in a sad and downer way like Watership Down or Plague Dogs. Many people say this is the best animated sequel of all time, but there are also some people who think fascism is still a good idea so hey, hey.
